THE BLUE WALL 2006

Photo installation by Regina Schmeken at the TV Museum in Berlin for the Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek.

Regina Schmeken was commissioned by the Filmmuseum Berlin / Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek to design the entrance area of the newly founded TV museum with photographs.

The artist has photographed the flood of images on television and the faces of spectators and reassembled these recordings into a large tableau. Her installation of backlit photographs called “The Blue Wall” is the prelude to a tour of the history of television programming.

Since June 1, 2006 the museum is open to visitors. It is located above the Film Museum in the Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. In 2018 the artwork was removed and replaced.
